Slowly But Surely

It looks like today I may be finally turning the corner with my toe. It is still quite tender, but at least not so teeth gritting all of the time. With some more Ibuprofen, rest, and elevation I will be up to running on time next week.

On time for what? Well, as it turns out, Im currently ranked 4th out of about 200 triathletes in my age group in Virginia. Dont get too excited; its almost nearly because I did a lot of racing early in the year. There are others though that did just as many as myself, but ranked lower, so Im still happy. Still though, I would like to make it into the top three, and to do so, I just need to do a couple more races and do relatively well this year. So Im going to complete the Virginia season, and my next race is a sprint on 8/2. Going to follow that up a half Ironman in September and then another sprint in October.

So Im back into training lightly next week. This week, I seriously have done nothing but rest and eat like there is no tomorrow. I cant believe how hungry I am. Im still not rested, and this weekend, I plan to just get some nice Z's before hitting the pavement again next week. I will keep the blog going daily for the rest of the season as it seems like I have some followers.

Okay, off to find a doughnut...
